Hippity doo da
So, yesterday I had enough of my hip pain so knowing my Rheumy was out of the office I left a message so she would get it first thing today. Ever since my last hospital stay, about three weeks ago my hips and low back have really Been bothering me- like really bothering me. Today was an institute day soo I was hopeful I could get squeezed in to see the doctor. Sure enough, I was able to be seen in the afternoon right when I was done at work. Dr R. did a very detailed exam of my hips and back - it was not very pleasant. I ended up getting a rather large cortisone injection in my right bursa (hip area) because my right side is worse then left. Ive had plenty of cortisone injections so I knew what to expect, and my thumb injections still take the prize for most painful. After the injection I had xrays of spine and hip done. Sure enough, RA has attacked my hips :( not cool. There were some "issues" with my back ad well but we are going wait to next appointment to discuss that. It's frustrating and a little scary to think about how aggressive my RA but I'm thankful for my doctors and how they all work together to help me. I will follow up with rheumatology in a week about the injections and hips.

ReplyDeleteUgh, I think hip pain is one of the worst RA pains so I really sympathise. It's good that you managed to get a cortisone injection so quickly though, I hope it settles things down for you.
ReplyDeleteTake care

I meant to ask you about yesterday's meeting, but was too self-involved today!! Soooooooo...glad the injection helps! I'll be praying that the RA leaves your darn hips alone.
