Hearing and knee

Yesterday I had my audiology appointment and appointment with ENT as well. Turns out my hearing aids are wonderful and doing their job - yay! I've had some issues with the, with getting feedback when things get to close, so we added "retention strings" to them. They are suppose to help wit keeping the domes in my ear better which should help with feedback issues.

ENT saw me after audiology. It turns out my ears look great and so does my nose. He said that my mouth is very dry which is probably why I've had a sore throat. Praising The Lord for this good news.

Today Livi and Jen came with me to orthopedics.
I was getting a monovisc injection in my left knee. Monovisc is like this "Jelly" they shoot in the knee to help lubricate the joint and relieve pain. My left knee hurts constantly no matter what. It especially hurts when I walk. No one wants this but if the injection fails we are really going to start to think about a total knee. The injection should help and is suppose to last around 6 months, we'll see how that goes and I'll know within 3-6 weeks if injection will take and work. Praying it does.

Classy Canine Creations

My girls have been stinky and dirty for quite sometime. Their nails looked like lil talons and ears super nasty. They have been long overdue to get groomed. So on Saturday my niece helped me take them to Classy Canine Creations do get groomed. I was beyond impressed with them! They got bathed, brushed, nails cut, ears cleaned, anal glands expressed and a bandana. I swear Darla turned a white color ๐Ÿ˜Š Darla did not like the bandana and refused to make eye contact with anyone until the bandana came off. Where as Olive was so proud of hers.

Penguins and kids!

Last Friday I had fun. I went over to a friends house and she invited some other people and I did a craft with all the kids and she made lunch for us all. I decided to a do a penguin craft because of winter. I got into it a little too much ๐Ÿ˜Š I went to library and checked out a few books on penguins so I could read them a story before the craft. I had everything prepared for them in little bags, made clothes pin magnets with their name on it and was set. It was amazing - all seven kids, age 2,3 and five all sat at the table and worked on the craft! Every kids penguin ended up looking a lil different but were cute! Below is the end product.

Craft time

Today I spent the afternoon with my friend Natalie having craft time and hanging. She called it an adult play date๐Ÿ˜Š we had a lot of fun.

She had seen in magazine and then on YouTube how to make these super cool paintings. You use acrylic glaze on clay board and then a heat gun to make it have texture. It was really cool watching the paint bubble. You can also use regular acrylic pain for different things and gesso to add different effects. It was so fun and we made happy messes!

Here is a link to the YouTube video.

Broken ribs.... Again,

This has been my view pretty much all week, but especially at night. I have been experiencing sme really bad chest pain, having difficulties breathing, and trouble laying down. So, I have been in the recliner chair nonstop and even sleeping in it. I told Dr Rhew about my pain and so we did X-rays... Turns out I have "a few fractures." UGH! No fun. I'm not exactly sure what I did but think it was on Monday when I tried reaching over the toilet hand rales to pick up my pants. Otherwise I'm not sure. I broke my ribs once before when I totally passed out and fell out my front door.they really hurt. We believe that because of my osteoporosis my bones are so brittle that they are breaking more easily. ๐Ÿ˜ฉThere is nothing you can do for broken ribs except rest, ice and pain meds, so that's what I'm doing and praying they heal up fast!

Glad my girls like to snuggle"

Broken Foot

Sooo my foot is broken, like totally broken... Not a cool way to start 2016 but oh well. People have asked me today what did I do to break it and my respondents - I don't know! Ever since end of November it was bothering me and I told some people it felt like I was walking on a broken foot. I December I had two sets of X-rays taken two weeks apart from each other and nothing shoes up. Then right after Christmas it was still bothering me and getting worse so we did an MRI... And sure enough I had two broken bones! Because oh the holiday and me getting super sick I didn't get to see the orthopedic foot doctor until today. And he is so nice and was funny. He said he had no idea how I've been walking around and I said I have a high pain tolerance. We believe I had to have banged it on something and bc of my bones being more Brittle bc of osteoporosis that it broke. fun.  I went in today thinking I'd get a boot but he was like absolutely not you need to be casted. In true Mandy fashion I tried bargaining with him but he kept saying nope you need to be casted... So I got a pretty purple cast on for at least the next three weeks! Ugh. Which also means no driving. Double UGH. Soooo I had my friend Sandra do a little cast art like she has in the past... She wrote my favorite HOPE on it, we kept it more simple this time but I love it. Well... Here we go cast- heal broken bones heal.

New year

Sooo it's a new year... I really want to write more to document things and share my life through pictures as well. I have the time to do it and place to do it so I'm going to try. Here's to a new year!
